7 Elegant Spring Outfit Formulas I’ll Be Repeating All Season

As someone who lives for timeless pieces and a curated wardrobe, spring is the season I look forward to most. It’s when everything feels lighter—days, travel plans, and especially outfits. The change in weather always inspires me to refresh what I’m wearing, and this year, I’m especially drawn to spring outfit ideas that feel elevated, yet still perfect for everyday wear.

Whenever I scroll Instagram or flip through street style photos, I find myself saving the same types of looks: relaxed but refined, built around wardrobe staples like white denim, linen skirts, or ballet flats. They’re not overly trendy—but they feel relevant, and that’s the key to a great spring outfit in my book.

I pulled together 7 spring outfit formulas that I know I’ll be reaching for on repeat this season. They’re ideal for café runs, weekend markets, brunch plans with friends, and everything in between. Most importantly, each look is based on pieces you probably already own, with a few updates if you’re looking to refresh your own wardrobe this season.

Keep scrolling because I sourced the prettiest looks on Instagram and linked every piece I could find!

There’s something about long trench coats in the springtime. This is one of my favorite pieces to wear during this time of year, because they instantly elevate every outfit and look incredibly chic.

You can pair a trench coat with white pants (like the picture above), jeans, or trousers. You can keep even keep your base super casual, as the trench will be the one that does the talking.

One of my favorite trench coats will always be the Sézane Clyde… it is effortlessly classy and the gingham print on the inner lining screams Parisian chic. I need it ASAP in all the colors!

If you’re looking for the perfect shoe to complete the look, a chic pair of white sneakers or ballet flats are a no-brainer. I rounded up my favorite Parisian shoe brands here.

We’ve been seeing buttery-yellow show up this year as this spring’s new ‘it-girl’ color, and for good reason.

This beautiful, creamy muted yellow is the perfect blend between wanting to wear color, but still wanting to stick to a neutral base. It’s one of those colors that define the embodiment of Spring, and looks good on everyone, no matter the skin tone!

I especially love a monochromatic buttery-yellow outfit, like the one picture above. The slightly different-hued tones complement each other perfectly, and I love how she dressed the outfit down with sneakers.

If you want to dress this outfit up, then I recommend adding a classic French handbag or some beautiful, European-inspired jewelry pieces as finishing touches!

Spring Outfit #3

One of my all-time favorite spring outfit trends—and a major comeback this season—is animal print. It’s one of those styles that cycles in and out, but lately I’ve been seeing cow print and leopard print styled as bold statement pieces… and I am fully here for it.

What I love most is how easily animal print elevates even the simplest outfit. A corw-print skirt with a crisp white tee and ballet flats? Instant chic. Or even a cow-print bag paired with white jeans and a neutral blazer is playful, but still polished.

When styled with clean lines and minimal accessories, animal print feels less wild and more editor-approved.

Denim on denim, but make it elevated. I’ve always had a soft spot for a double-denim look—especially when the pieces feel structured, lived-in, and just a little oversized.

This combo of a classic button-down and relaxed jeans is giving understated confidence, especially with the pop of that pale yellow bag. Add mesh Mary Janes, and it’s giving “French off-duty, meets Soho coffee run.”

I absolutely love a soft cardigan contrasted against a pair of jeans. I’m really into pairing more delicate, feminine pieces like this with relaxed denim lately. It keeps the whole look from feeling too “done,” and instead gives that effortless vibe.

The chain belt and pointed heels take this outfit from overly casual to elevated… and don’t even get me started on this quilted cream bag—it’s giving luxury in the most wearable way. This might just be one of my favorite spring outfit formulas so far: cozy on top, structured on the bottom, and always a coffee in hand.

There’s something so unexpected about a cowboy boot and lace skirt combo. I love how it blurs the line between sweet and rugged. It’s the kind of outfit that you’d wear in a tiny European alleyway as it does at a vintage market in NYC on a Sunday morning.

The slouchy knit keeps it grounded and cozy, while the deep red boots pull the whole look into that slightly moodier, spring-meets-fall territory I can’t stop loving right now. It’s giving soft, editorial country with a passport stamp.

There’s nothing more spring-coded than a crisp linen set—especially when it’s styled like this. I love how the all-white feels clean and relaxed, but then the tan Celine belt steps in to anchor the whole look. It adds just the right amount of structure and polish without taking away from the breezy ease of the linen.

And the pop of sky-blue sneakers is unexpected in the best way! This is the kind of outfit you wear to your favorite café, stay longer than planned, and maybe flirt with the idea of ordering dessert before noon.

Final Thoughts

Spring outfits don’t need to shout to stand out. Sometimes it’s the quiet combinations—the soft linen layers, the structured belt, the unexpected pop of color—that feel the most elevated.

This look is a reminder that comfort and elegance can absolutely exist in the same outfit. And when the textures are right and the details are thoughtful, you don’t need much else. Just coffee, a little sun, and a reason to walk a little slower.
