Elleme

Elleme trousse bag

If you’ve been around C&C for a while, you already know that Elleme is a Parisian brand I can’t and won’t stop talking about.

I have the Boomerang in suede and the Trousse woven leather bag, and between the two of them, they cover every occasion I could possibly need a bag for. But what I love most about this brand is their quality— both the suede and the leather are on another level.

The Trousse leather in particular is so buttery and soft that it literally molds to your body as you wear it… I have never experienced that with a bag at this price point! The double gold zipper is also such an elegant touch, and the woven pattern gives me Bottega Veneta energy without the four-figure price tag.

The Boomerang suede, on the other hand, is my conversation starter bag. The sculptural gold hardware handle is unlike anything else in my collection, and I love that it comes with a crossbody strap so I can change how I wear/style it. Every single time I carry it out, someone stops me to ask where I got it from.

If you’re looking for a Parisian handbag brand that delivers on both quality and originality, Elleme needs to be at the top of your list.

Price range: $500-$700
Elleme bags are best for:

  • Quiet luxury lovers who want Bottega-level quality without the designer price tag
  • Anyone looking for a unique, conversation-starting bag that nobody else will have

Le Parmentier

If you haven’t heard of Le Parmentier yet, consider this your official introduction.

This brand is the love child of Parisian design and Italian craftsmanship. You can expect clean, minimalist silhouettes with an elegant twist that makes the bags look effortless.

What makes Le Parmentier standout in the mid-range European handbag space is how intentional and timeless all of their pieces feel. These bags are designed to be worn on repeat for years without ever feeling dated, or losing their shape. Prices sit between $300–$375, and in my personal opinion, they are one of the best value propositions on this entire list.

I personally own the Atlanta bag in Camel, and it has become one of my most-reached-for bags. The structured silhouette, the quality of the leather, and the way it just elevates every outfit is perfect. I get stopped constantly whenever I wear it out! Other styles worth knowing are the Yucca and the Bombo Croc bags, with the latter having the most luxurious croco embossed style leather in multiple colors.

If you’re building a collection of mid-range European handbags that will stand the test of time, Le Parmentier is a non-negotiable.

Price Range: $300–$375
Le Parmentier bags are best for:

  • Minimalist dressers who gravitate toward clean, structured silhouettes
  • Budget-friendly women building a mid-range European handbag collection that will last

RSVP Paris

rsvp munchkin bag

At this point, I feel like a direct ambassador for RSVP Paris (sadly, I’m not…yet). I discovered this brand a little under 2 years ago, and haven’t looked back.

RSVP Paris handbags are everything you would want in a mid-range luxury European handbag. Designed in Paris and handcrafted in Italy, the brand operates on a limited edition model. Each style is produced in batches of just 500 pieces, making each bag feel rare and special.

My favorite part about RSVP Paris, though, is their understated, ‘if you know you know‘ signature double gold buttons. Each bag has two round “eyes” that appear on every single style. It sounds like a small detail, but in person it’s truly what makes their bags stand out.

I personally own and wear three of their styles: the Golden Eyes, the Munchkin, and the Batman Tote. Each one brings something completely different to my wardrobe. The Golden Eyes (which, I actually gifted to my sister, pictured above!) is the perfect everyday bag. The Munchkin is my go-to evening bag. And the Batman is one of the most functional, sculpturally chic shoulder bags I’ve ever owned.

If you want my full, in-depth breakdown of all three styles, I wrote a dedicated RSVP Paris review covering everything from quality to what fits inside. I highly recommend reading it before you buy — it’ll help you figure out which style is the right one for you!

Price Range: $350–$600
RSVP Paris bags are best for:

  • Quiet luxury lovers who want something truly under-the-radar and limited edition
  • Women who appreciate sculptural, logo-free design with a very distinct Parisian point of view

Le Tanneur

Le Tanneur Elena bag

Le Tanneur is another European bag brand I can’t say enough good things about. I’ve had the pleasure of owning multiple styles, and adding the Elena Large Tote to my collection has only made me more insufferable about it.

Le Tanneur is a Parisian-based leather tannery that has been crafting leather goods since 1898. That’s over a century of quietly perfecting impeccable leather bags. And yet, they remain one of the most underrated French handbag brands out there. No flashy logos, just beautifully made bags that speak for themselves.

I own two styles from this brand, the Emilie and the Elena Large Tote. Between the both of them, I am covered for most occasions I could possibly need a bag for! The Emilie is my everyday and evening bag, sleek and structured with their iconic royal blue inner lining.

The Elena is my work bag of the moment, and it has completely changed my standards for what a tote should be. Full-grain calfskin leather, a microfibre suede interior, multiple slip pockets, a detachable zippered pouch, a dedicated lipstick pocket, and a built-in vanity mirror. In a work bag. Le Tanneur really gave the women what they want.

If you want my full thoughts on the brand, I wrote a complete Le Tanneur review that covers everything from unboxing to long-term wear.

Price Range: $500–$880
Le Tanneur bags are best for:

  • Quiet luxury lovers who appreciate French heritage craftsmanship without the designer markup
  • Anyone building a collection of forever pieces that only get better with time

Ateliers Auguste

Ateliers Auguste handbags

I did not expect to become this obsessed with Ateliers Auguste as quickly as I did, but, alas, here we are.

This Parisian brand was actually introduced to me by their PR team, and within five minutes of browsing their site I was complete done for. Designed in Le Marais and handcrafted in the Venetian countryside in Italy, Ateliers Auguste has built something really special in a relatively short amount of time. They’ve only been around since 2018, which makes the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail they’ve achieved very impressive.

Of all the beautiful styles, I own the Alma bag in burgundy croc embossed leather, and it has quickly become one of the most-complimented pieces in my entire collection. The deep burgundy with glossy croc texture and signature gold bar clasp is unlike anything else I own.

I’ve worn it with everything from jeans and a white button-down to an all-black dinner look. It’s one of those bags that elevate an outfit every single time. I already have my eye on the Mini Marly in tan box leather as my next addition, it’s SO beautiful.

For my full breakdown of the Alma and the European bag brand itself, I wrote a complete Ateliers Auguste review here.

Price Range: $450–$745
Ateliers Auguste bags are best for:

  • Quiet luxury lovers who want a sculptural, architectural bag with serious Parisian energy
  • Anyone looking for a statement piece that works just as beautifully for evenings as it does for everyday

DeMellier

european handbag brands

If you’ve been around C&C for a while, you already know that DeMellier is a brand I bring up often.

London-based with Spanish and French heritage and Italian craftsmanship, DeMellier sits at the crossroads of everything I love about European design. Their bags are sharp, structured, and finished with clean gold hardware that nods to traditional elegance without ever feeling dated.

What I find so compelling about DeMellier is how considered everything feels. First of all, the leather quality is exceptional. I’ve had the New York Midi Tote for a few years now (pictured above), and the shape has held up perfectly. The leather is durable without being stiff, and I really love the versatility of all their bags and styles. Everything from the edge stitching to the hardware weight feels intentional.

They also have one of the most meaningful brand missions I’ve come across: for every bag sold, DeMellier funds a life-saving vaccine for a child in need through their “A Bag, A Life” initiative. I love when a brand has a purpose.

My personal favorites are the New York Tote for everyday wear and the Mini Vancouver for when I want something compact and completely chic. And if you’ve ever found yourself torn between DeMellier and Polène, which, can be one of the most common dilemmas in this price range, I did a full Polène vs DeMellier breakdown that will help you decide exactly which one is right for you.

Price Range: $525–$745
Demellier bags are best for:

  • Classic dressers who want a sharp, structured bag with timeless elegance
  • Women who want their purchase to have a meaningful impact beyond the bag itself

Gerard Darel

There are French brands that are well-known, and then there are French brands that are iconicGerard Darel is the latter. Founded in Paris in 1971, this is a brand with over 50 years of French craftsmanship behind it, and it shows in every single piece they make.

Their signature style is the 24H bag, which is named for the idea that it can take you anywhere, at any hour of the day. The 24H is one of those bags that works for everything, whether it’s weekend brunch, client meeting, dinner out, or a travel day.

But the style I personally keep coming back to is the Bubble Leather 18H. It’s the slightly more compact, everyday version of the iconic 24H. I think I love it even more. My personal favorite colorway is the burgundy — but fair warning, it sells out constantly. If you ever see it in stock, do not even think twice.

The 18H is made from naturally textured sheep leather, which means every single bag is completely unique. The bubble texture is soft, lightweight, and has this beautifully effortless casual-chic quality that feels very Parisian. Gerard Darel bags come in hand, shoulder, and crossbody carry options, and have a hidden magnetic closure that keeps everything secure. They are the perfect bags for everyday, city-chic vibes.

Price Range: $495–$545
Gerard Darel bags are best for:

  • Lovers of unique, naturally textured leathers that feel one-of-a-kind
  • Anyone looking for a bag that transitions seamlessly from morning to evening without missing a beat

Stow London

Stow London is one of those brands that once you discover, you can’t believe more people don’t know about them. They are a European handbag brand embodying British design. All of their bags are handcrafted in their own atelier in Ubrique, Spain, which is the leather craftsmanship capital of the world.

As a matter of fact, Ubrique, Spain is where the same artisans produce bags for the biggest luxury houses on the planet. The difference is…. Stow London charges a fraction of the price.

What makes this brand so special is their 5,000 bag limit. This is a deliberate commitment to producing no more than 5,000 bags per year. Their bags are usually available on pre-order, and they are never discounted. When a brand never goes on sale, that should tell you something.

Their East-West Curve Bag is one of their standout styles. It’s soft, structured, and has a clever magnetic design that transforms how it looks depending on how you carry it. Their newer Mini Bowling bag (pictured above) is also absolutely stunning and reminds me of the Polène numero neuf.

If you love beautiful leather, ethical production, and that deeply satisfying feeling of finding something before everyone else does, Stow London is your brand.

Price Range: $350–$600
Stow London bags are best for:

  • Anyone who loves the idea of owning something truly limited and intentionally made
  • Leather quality obsessives who want top-tier materials without the top-tier price tag

Strathberry

If there is one brand that has earned a permanent place in every single handbag article I write, it’s Strathberry.

This Edinburgh-born brand has become one of my most-recommended mid-range European bag brands for a very simple reason: they deliver quiet luxury in the most effortless, recognizable way. The signature gold bar closure is one of the most iconic design details in contemporary accessories, and once you know it, you see it everywhere.

Every Strathberry bag is handcrafted in Spain by artisans who also work with top-tier luxury houses, and the leather quality reflects exactly that. The edges are clean, the hardware is weighty, and the overall construction feels premium in a way that surprises you at this price point. These are not bags that look mid-range. They look expensive.

My personal favorites are the East/West Omni bag for an elevated everyday crossbody, the Mosaic for when I want something more structured and top-handle, and the Kate Sling (pictured above) for when I want an elevated evening look. All 3 styles are on my permanent ShopMy.

If you’ve been on the fence about Strathberry, take this is as your sign.

Price Range: $395–$695
Strathberry bags are best for:

  • Quiet luxury lovers who want a recognizable-but-not-logo-heavy piece
  • Anyone looking for that perfect structured crossbody or top-handle at a mid-range price

Yuzefi

the best British bag brands

If you love bags that feel like wearable sculpture, Yuzefi is about to become your new obsession.

This London-based label creates some of the most architecturally interesting designs I’ve ever encountered, and what makes them so special is that they manage to feel both contemporary and timeless at the same time. Founded by Yuzefina Titova, Yuzefi has built a quiet but devoted cult following. Once you own one, you completely understand why.

One of their most distinctive design signatures is the long integrated strap that appears across most of their styles. It’s such a specific, considered detail, and it’s what made me fall in love with the brand in the first place.

Oh! And a fun detail I love: all of their styles are named after uniquely shaped foods. The Mochi, the Gyoza, the Pretzel — it makes sense once you see the silhouettes, because each one is just as distinctive and sculptural as its namesake. The Mochi is their iconic elevated everyday tote and an absolute must-have. The Gyoza is my quiet luxury pick from the collection. It’s understated, chic, completely perfect. And the Pretzel is unlike anything I have ever seen, a true statement piece.

The color palette across all styles is also so beautiful, made up of rich neutrals, deep earth tones, the occasional unexpected pop. Yuzefi is just chef’s kiss every single time.

Price Range: $400–$800
Yuzefi bags are best for:

  • Anyone who appreciates a brand with a truly distinct, signature design language
  • Sculptural silhouette lovers and those tired of seeing the same styles everywhere

O My Bag Amsterdam

O My Bag Amsterdam is the brand I recommend every single time someone tells me they want a beautiful, well-made leather bag that also aligns with their values. Founded in Amsterdam in 2011, this Dutch brand has spent over a decade proving that ethical production and exceptional design are not mutually exclusive — and they do it beautifully.

Every bag is handcrafted in India using premium quality, chrome-free vegetable tanned leather that ages and matures gorgeously with time. The brand offers fair wages across their entire supply chain, and backs every bag with a lifetime guarantee.

Their signature summertime Leo collection is the one I keep coming back to, and the Leo Maxi in woven soft grain leather is my current obsession. The woven texture is handcrafted, giving it this incredibly elevated look that gives me major Bottega vibes. I also love it in the Twisted Handle version.

The Coco Croissant is my absolute favorite style from this European bag brand. Oh my goodness… could this be any more me? I’m obsessed with the dark sand leather color, and the little twist bow on top just adds to the adorableness of this bag. O My Bag Amsterdam bags come in the most beautiful colorways, fit everything you need for the day, and you can wear them as crossbody’s or on the shoulder. Perfection.

Price Range: $199–$399
O My Bag Amsterdam bags are best for:

  • Conscious shoppers who refuse to compromise on aesthetics or ethics
  • Anyone who loves a woven leather texture without the Bottega price tag

Noesi

Noesi Milano is one of those Italian brands that perfectly encapsulates what I love most about European bag design — clean lines, understated elegance, and craftsmanship that speaks entirely for itself. Based in Italy and designed with the modern woman in mind, every single Noesi bag is handcrafted in Italy from 100% genuine leather with a microsuede lining and presented in a pure cotton dust bag. The attention to detail from the very first unboxing is immediatelyapparent.

Their tagline is “the poetry of instinct” — and honestly, it fits. There’s something very intuitive about Noesi’s design language. Nothing is overdone. Everything is considered. The silhouettes are versatile enough to take you from a busy workday to a weekend lunch without missing a beat.

My favorite styles from their collection are the Asia — a sculptural shopper with elongated handles and a signature wave detail that adds just the right amount of texture — and the Mini Bianca, a compact leather tote that fits your daily essentials while looking incredibly put-together. The Molly in cognac suede is also on my radar in a big way. Their color palette leans into beautiful neutrals — tan, stone, cognac, black — which makes every piece feel endlessly wearable.

Price Range: $250–$500
Noesi Milano bags are best for:

  • Minimalist dressers who want Italian craftsmanship at a genuinely accessible price point
  • Anyone building a collection of timeless, made-in-Italy pieces that won’t date

Ree Projects

Ree Projects is an Amsterdam-based brand that has quietly built one of the most devoted followings in the mid-range luxury bag world — and once you see their designs, you completely understand why.

Founded by designer Desiree Kleinen with a vision to empower women through thoughtful, functional design, every Ree Projects bag is handcrafted in Italy from the most beautiful soft calfskin, pebble grain, and suede leathers.

The brand’s design language is understated and sculptural at the same time — clean silhouettes with just enough shape and detail to feel genuinely distinctive without ever being loud about it. Very much the “if you know, you know” energy that I am always drawn to.

Their collections are named after women — Ann, Avy, Clare, Elieze, Helene, Nessa, Riva — which I love. Each one has its own personality. The Ann Tote is their bestseller and for good reason — it’s the kind of structured everyday tote that just works with everything. The Nessa Purse is a beautiful compact crossbody that starts at $580, making it the most accessible entry point into the collection. And the Helene Hobo in soft calf suede is currently at the top of my personal wishlist.

Price Range: $580–$900+
Ree Projects bags are best for:

  • Women who want sculptural, Italian-made bags with a very distinct Amsterdam design sensibility
  • Quiet luxury lovers who appreciate understated elegance over anything logo-driven

Maison Rinceau

Maison Rinceau is one of those brands that stops you in your scroll and makes you think wait, what is this? — and then you fall completely down the rabbit hole. Designed in Paris and handcrafted in Italy, this French design house creates bags that feel like the perfect intersection of art, architecture, and everyday elegance. Even the name is poetic — “rinceau” is an ornamental motif, a nod to art carved in stone. Of course it is.

Founded by Mathilde and Maxime, the brand draws inspiration from travel, European landmarks, and the curves of iconic architecture. Every silhouette feels sculptural yet fluid — structured enough to feel intentional, soft enough to feel effortless. The leather is Italian, carefully selected, and develops a beautiful patina over time. Their Trustpilot reviews are consistently glowing, which for a newer brand, speaks volumes.

Their styles are named as beautifully as they look. The Dianna — a half-moon shaped crossbody with a twisted shoulder strap and golden clasp — is stunning and an absolute personal favorite. The Apollon is a classic structured everyday bag with two interior compartments and an exterior zip pocket. And the Grand Rosa, conceived during a meal with their Italian craftsmen in Naples, comes with a complimentary matching silk scarf tucked into the package. Could this brand be any more French?

Price Range: $250–$450
Maison Rinceau bags are best for:

  • Women who love sculptural, architectural design with a deeply romantic French sensibility
  • Anyone looking for a beautifully made Italian leather bag at an accessible price

Saonara

I saved one of my most feel-good discoveries for last — Saonara, and trust me, the story behind this brand makes it even more special.

Founded in December 2021 by two childhood friends, Saonara was born out of a shared dream and a love for the island of Formentera — specifically Cala Saona, the beautiful cove where so many of their best memories were made. Every bag is handcrafted in Ubrique, Spain — the same artisan town behind some of the world’s most iconic luxury bags — using premium Italian calfskin leather and a lifetime guarantee on every piece. Quiet luxury, Mediterranean soul.

Their design aesthetic is clean, structured, and deeply inspired by modern architecture. Think precise lines, refined metallic finishes, and a silhouette that manages to feel both classic and completely contemporary. The Bucket bag is their most iconic style — a structured leather bucket with beautiful contrast detailing that comes in the most gorgeous colorways, from Berry to Chocolate to Mocha. The Shopping Bag is also a standout — spacious enough for a 14″ laptop, elegant enough to carry into any room. And the Mini Capazo is on my personal radar for a summer bag — effortless and chic.

Free worldwide shipping, a lifetime guarantee, and ethically made in Spain. What’s not to love?

Price Range: $250–$575
Saonara bags are best for:

  • Women who love structured, architectural silhouettes with a warm Mediterranean spirit
  • Conscious shoppers who want ethically made, sustainably produced leather goods

Final Thoughts

And there you have it — 15 mid-range European bag brands that I genuinely believe deserve a permanent spot on your radar. From the sculptural silhouettes of Yuzefi to the Mediterranean soul of Saonara, the rich heritage of Le Tanneur to the ethical craftsmanship of O My Bag Amsterdam — what ties all of these brands together is a commitment to quality, intention, and design that doesn’t need a logo to speak for itself.

Whether you’re building your very first collection or adding a fifth (no judgment, ever), I hope this list introduced you to at least one or two brands you hadn’t discovered yet. That’s always my goal with C&C — to be the friend who points you toward the beautiful things before everyone else finds them.

As always, I’d love to hear from you. Which brand caught your eye? Are you already obsessed with any of these? Drop it in the comments below, I read every single one. À bientôt! 🥐
